All EC’s pregnant employees given leave

All employees of Elections Commission who are pregnant have been given leave in light of the H1N1 influenza (swine flu) outbreak in the country.
Pregnant women are categorized as a high-risk group for complications as a result of H1N1 virus.
Member of EC, Ahmed Akram said all of its pregnant employees – whether they are full-time or part-time employees have been given leave.
The number of women working for EC who are pregnant has not been released.
EC said the leave will not be deducted from any of their official leave days.
EC said the employees will remain on leave until advised otherwise by Health Protection Agency.
Pregnant women are being administered influenza vaccine from Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital and ADK Hospital.
Influenza vaccine will be administered to pregnant women from IGMH’s Reproductive Health Clinic from 8 am to 4 pm starting next Thursday.
The vaccine will be administered at ADK Hospital from its Vaccination Room on the second floor of the hospital from 3 pm to 6 pm every day, except for Fridays.
