Bank of Maldives (BML) has donated motorised wheelchairs to an additional 65 individuals with disabilities.
This is part of the national bank’s initiative launched in 2017, to donate motorised wheelchairs “to every person with a mobility impairment in the country able to independently operate a wheelchair”.
BML said that motorised wheelchairs have now been delivered to over 100 individuals.
The bank’s CEO and Managing Director, Tim Sawyer said that the bank is pleased “to be able to make a difference to people’s lives with these special motorised wheelchairs”.
Highlighting that the bank’s target is “to reach as many individuals as possible to provide them with greater freedom as they go about their everyday lives,” Sawyer thanked the staff at BML for their “commitment in delivering the wheelchairs during these challenging times”.
