High Court on Sunday afternoon has revoked the decision of Criminal Court regarding the case of Thinadhoo.
The verdict of the High Court stated there are no Laws in the Constitution which allows the Criminal Court to withdraw the Thinadhoo Arson Case in the court claiming that the State has failed to provide the assistance of lawyers and other means of support to the court during the proceedings of the case.
Criminal Court withdrew the case during the testimony of witnesses. Upon Criminal Court withdrawing the case، PG Office have appealed to the High Court to revoke the decision of the Criminal Court.
The state accused 89 people from Thinadhoo for Terrorism regarding the torching of Government buildings on February 8th، 2014، following the resignation of President Mohamed Nasheed on 7th February 2012.
