Gasim Ibrahim was the kingmaker for both the first democratically elected President Mohamed Nasheed and the second President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
During both the elections Gasim’s value reached more than the value of a gold mountain. There was simply no one as useful as Gasim.
People who never entered the premises of Maafannu Villa come and beg and plead. And there were those people who were then the carpets and door mats for the house. And there were there as “Jinns” who possessed Maafannu Villa.
However after getting the Presidency in both the governments, they forgot about Gasim. They did not stop at that but also try to and is trying to destroy him.
Regardless whether he was one person, there are thousands of people who are with Gasim. They remain wishing good for him.
Not all of them might be upon the same political ideology as Gasim. However none of them will ever want any harm to reach Gasim’s way. They all wish good and progress to him.
In 2004 Gasim was betrayed and oppressed. He was given injustices that he never deserved. And it came to pass that Gayoom finally had to face the bitter defeat.
During the 2008 Election, the MDP came to power through the help of Gasim Ibrahim. He spent millions for campaigns and worked hard to garner more votes for Nasheed and he did.
However after coming to power Gasim was betrayed. He was treated very badly. The history of those fateful days have been written.
Then came the 2012 election. History repeated and PPM used Gasim’s support to win the election for their candidate President Yameen.
