Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has decided to participate in the discussions of All Party Talks، and has stated the representative members from the party.
In a statement published on MDP Website، the party has stated the motive of taking part in the All Party Talks is to brainstorm possible solutions to maintain a constitutional governance as the ineffective and tyrannical leadership is creating a political havoc in Maldives.
MDP announced the members representing the party in the discussions are MDP Chairperson Ali Waheed، MDP Parliamentary Group Leader Ibrahim Mohamed Solih، Mahchah Golhi Uthuru MP Mariya Ahmed Didi، former Speaker of Majlis Abdulla Shahid and Male’ City Mayor Mohamed Shihab.
While MDP has resolved to participate in the discussions of the opposition parties، Jumhooree Party had also called to hold such discussions. The council of JP has given full authority to JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim to make any decision in party’s best interest to uphold the constitution.
Despite all the opposition parties claiming the Government is acting against the Constitution، the Government and Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) have denied all the allegation.
