Adhaalath Party has requested the President to let parties conduct their own affairs.
In a letter sent to President Yameen, by the VP of Adhalath Party Ali Zahir, he said that making demands even before the political dialogues started will lead to unsuccessful dialogues.
Ali Zahir said that he had to write this letter because, President’s Office requested to nominate the party representatives for the all-party dialogues after passing the names from party council. Ali Zahir said that it is up to the parties to decide how they will conduct their own affairs. “It is up to us to do this right? That is our own problem, isn’t it?” said Ali Zahir.
Ali Zahir said that Adhaalath Party is ready to take part in the dialogues without any demands as requested by CMAG last month. He further said that the government making demands make him question the sincerity of the government.
Jumhoory Party nominated two representatives and a reserve representative via a vote by the party council, even before the government asked to do that. However, in PPM the party representatives were selected by the party president.
