MDP orders the six party members to explain for violating the whip-line

Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has ordered the six members of the party to present an explanation for violating the party’s enforced whip-line to oppose the dismissal of former Chief Justice Uz. Ahmed Faiz Hussain and Supreme Court Judge Muthasim Adnan، by not attending the Majlis Sitting.
In a statement signed and released by the Vice President of MDP and the Chair of Disciplinary Committee، Mohamed Shifaz said the Party orders the six members of the Majlis who failed to attend the Majlis Sitting during the dismissal of the two Supreme Court Judges، to submit a written explanation or present an explanation to the Committee.
The six members were asked to submit a written explanation between 2pm to 5pm on December 19th or be present at the Committee between 4pm to 5pm on the same day. If the members wish to submit the explanation by e-mail، they were asked to do so before 4pm the same day.
The Disciplinary Committee of MDP has sent separate notes to each members who failed to attend the Majlis Sitting.
The six members who failed to attend the Majlis Sitting on Sunday during the dismissal of two Supreme Court Bench Judges are Vaikaradhoo MP Mohamed Nazim، Velidhoo MP Abdulla Yameen Rasheed، Mulak MP Ibrahim Naseer، Felidhoo MP Ahmed Marzook، Kurendhoo MP Abdul Baaree Abdulla and Hulhuhenveyru MP Moosa Manik.
Reportedly، some of the members are currently abroad.
