Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed has stated that the Government’s investment and mega projects have earned acclaim globally.
Speaking to press in Hotel Jen last night, Minister Saeed said that international business publications have taken an interest in the Government’s policies, noting that this years’ Investment Forum had gained a fair amount of publicity in Chinese media.
He noted that increase in numbers wishing to take part in the forum was an indication of this. He cited that in last year’s Forum held in Singapore, 500 parties took part, while this year the number had risen to 800. Minister Saeed added that the purpose of the Forum was to ensure equal development and resource allocation for businesses foreign and local. He noted that with China taking up 32 per cent of tourist arrivals, a boost to tourism sector was expected with the participation of President Yameen in the Forum.
Minister Saeed added that Forums and projects of this nature had not been carried out before and attributed the current success to the strong leadership.
