The extension of medical leave of former president Mohamed Nasheed، who is in UK، which was cancelled by the Maldives Correctional Services (MSC) has been set for reconsideration.
Minister of Home Affairs Mr. Umar Naseer said that due to the confusion created by Nasheed’s lawyers، the case has been submitted for review to the Medical Board of Maldives Correctional Services for reconsideration of medical leave.
The 30-day medical release granted to jailed ex-president، Mohamed Nasheed، was cancelled by Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) on Monday.
On Thursday MCS granted additional 30 days of medical release to the former president، but the cancellation was announced during a press conference later on Monday.
Commissioner of Prisons، Mohamed Husham claimed، the cancellation owed to statements from Nasheed’s legal team، that he no longer needed surgery.
