There will be better results if all work together to curb crime rate- PG

Prosecutor General Muhthaz Muhsin has said that there will be better results if all work together to curb crime rate in the Maldives.
During an interview with Vnews, PG Muhthaz said that the system currently in place is not sufficient enough to deal with crime, and that this would be solved if the government bodies had better communication between each other.
Programs were conducted for the past six months to rehabilitate and re-integrate convicts back into society. Although many rehabilitation programs were introduced, PG said that the least attention was given to such programs this time than in the past five years.
PG added that new opportunities were insight to reduce crime, and that the introduction of new penal codes would bring progress that would rival the most developed of nations.
Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police Hussain Waheed has said that extra steps would be taken to prevent crime and the distribution and use of drugs.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, Commissioner of Police Hussein Waheed said that good results will be seen only if all work together.
