The youth branch of PPM, PYM has urged the party leadership to hold party’s national congress as soon as possible to solve the internal problems of the party.
Speaking at a news conference held by PYM tonight, Ibrahim Muaz Ali said that what’s important is not talking about the problems within the party but the important thing is to do what is necessary to solve these problems. He said that holding a council meeting and a national congress of the party is very important.
Muaaz asked the youth of PPM not to be despaired and asked them to remain firmly behind President Maumoon.
Ibrahim Yousuf, the President of PYM who was removed by Maumoon from that position earlier today, said that the party by-laws do not state that he will lose the position if he reaches the maximum age requirement for the position during midterm. Ibrahim said that the party council should decide whether he can remain or not.
He further said that a lot of work was done by the youth to elect President Yameen and that they will remain doing so. He said that they will continue to do various works in the party office.
