A fire inside took place at Velana International Airport on Monday, leaving one worker injured.
Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) reports the fire took place at approximately 06:15 pm in the sea plane fuel storage depot located in the eastern side of the airport.
One worker sustained minor burn injuries in the incident.
According to MACL, the fire was quickly extinguished by the firefighter’s team at the airport.
MACL’s safety department has launched an internal investigation into the fire.
