The two people who were arrested in relation with Rilwan’s case has been released.
Police said that they were freed by the court، when police took them to the criminal court to extend their remand. The two people are Alif Rauoof and Mohammed Noorahdheen. Both of them were under house arrest previously. Even though they were released from house arrest، court ordered them not to travel outside Male’. Both of them belongs to Kudahenveyru group of Male’.
Rilwan has been missing since 8th August 2014. Alif Rauoof is the owner of the red car who is believed to have been used to abduct Rilwan. Mohamed is the one who has been using the car in Hulhumale’.
During the night of the abduction people saw the car near Rilwan’s apartment and also heard someone shouting for help. Also they saw a man’s hand outside the car. Police have confirmed that they found DNA matching Rilwan’s mom inside the car.
The opposition has blamed the disappearance of Rilwan on the government and accuse that it was a state sanctioned abduction.
