Nazim appeals 11-year jail sentence

Former Defense Minister Colonel (Retired) Mohamed Nazim، who is sentenced for 11 years of prison for charges of possession of dangerous weaponry has appealed his verdict in the High Court.
Nazim’s defense attorneys have confirmed the news.
Nazim’s lawyers stated that although the summary report of the Nazim’s trial has not been issued yet، the appeal is made to the High Court.
Nazim’s sentence’s appeal is due at 2:00pm today.
Meanwhile، Nazim is in Singapore، attending to his medical condition.
The verdict issued on Nazim states that Nazim is found guilty for possessing dangerous weaponry – handgun، three bullets and a pendrive that were found in G. Anif، on 18th January 2015. The verdict further states that Nazim was unable to present evidences that would falsify the charges.
