A women’s group has been helping tourists visiting Masjid Mohamed Thakufurnaanul Audham to sightsee the mosque.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, the group said that they are a private Islamic group and that they are volunteering to give a tour of the mosque for tourists.
In this regard, they provide eligible clothing for the tourists to enter the worshippers’ area of the mosque.
The group stated that they started the activity as a group of three but now the members have increased to six.
“We educate them on the role of the mosque. And also about Islam if they ask any questions in that regard. We provide them with whatever information they ask for,” they said.
The group said that many of the tourists are very interested to know more about the religion of Islam and aspects of Islam such as the five daily prayers and how and when it is performed.
The group also told Miadhu Daily that they have been working with the full support the Ministry of Islamic Affairs.
