The Criminal Court on Wednesday sentenced three individuals for 5 years in prison for stabbing 7 individuals in an assault in Fuvahmulak.
Abdulla Zahir of “Zamaanee Villa”، Niushad Mohamed of “Baanz” and Shufau Ahmed of “Kueythu” from Fuvahmulak were sentenced to five years in prison on counts assault using a weapon which can be used to kill a person.
Accounting the testimonies، medical reports of the victims and legal reports، the Criminal Court issued the verdict stating the three individuals were found guilty of the charges pressed against them by the State.
In addition to the three individuals، the State also pressed murder charges against Hassan Fareed of “Karanka’aage” of Fuvahmulak، who was also found guilty and facing death penalty.
During the assault in Fuvahmulak، several individuals were stabbed، and Abdulla Shuhad of “Mecko” was killed during the brawl.
