Spokesperson at the President’s Office, Ibrahim Muaz Ali has said that the Government wished to broaden the political party talks to discuss on issues that will bring progress and prosperity to the public.
Speaking to Miadhu, Muaz said that previous discussions were centered on tabled discussion points but this round of talks will be opened to all issues.
“We are discussing on national interests, closely related to the public. So discussions on all forms of issues can be discussed. However, any individual requests from individuals is a different issue,” he said.
Muaz said that discussions were carried out in a neutral environment. He added that saying that a positive environment for discussions was not granted was not a viable excuse not to take part in the discussions. He said that any party interested in the nation’s future will take this opportunity without haggling on the details, noting that MDP and Adhaalath were doing to the contrary.
Muaz further said that discussions will be monitored by international observers, noting that the Government wished to conduct discussions on a transparent manner.
