Home Minister calls to broaden service by adapting international best practices

Home Minister Umar Naseer has called to broaden the judicial justice service in the country, by adopting international best practices.
He made the statement speaking at the graduation ceremony for those who completed their course at the Institution for Security and Law Enforcement Studies (ISLES).
Addressing graduates in Iskandar Koshi, Minister Umar said that service accounted for three fourths of the work carried out by judicial justice implementation agencies such as Police, Customs and Correctional services, noting that implementing laws accounted for one-fourth of the work carried out.
Minister Umar added that in the future, heads of such institutions will be experts in that aspect, noting that seeking education and training was vital.
He stressed that judicial justice systems and implementation of judicial justice had developed in all developed nations due to the concentrated efforts to integrate modern aspects, training and education, Minister added that Maldives needed to absorb these aspects to create a more modern developed society.
He added that adopting international best practices will reduce time and effort in the development process, citing that the development of Singapore rested on this principle.
