Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the New York Declaration serves as clear evidence of international support for the permanent sovereignty of the Palestinian people, the recognition of a Palestinian state, and its full membership in the United Nations.
The New York Declaration is a resolution focused on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian conflict and the implementation of a two-state solution.
Following the resolution's adoption, President Muizzu announced that the Maldivian government welcomed the New York Declaration, which emerged as the outcome paper of a United Nations conference co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France.
The President's statement further indicated that the resolution represents a strong call from the international community for cooperation in finding sustainable solutions to the damage caused by continuous Israeli actions in Palestine and in ensuring Palestinian economic capacity and security.
