Non-Resident High Commissioner of the Maldives to Seychelles presents his credentials

Non-Resident High Commissioner, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Maldives to the Republic of Seychelles Masood Imad presented his Letters of Credence to the President of Seychelles, Dr Patrick Herminie, at a ceremony held this morning at the State House in Victoria.
The ceremony was attended by Seychelles’ Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Barry Faure, and the Director General of the Ministry, Lindy Ernesta. The Maldivian delegation included Minister-Counsellor Ismail Mamdhooh and the Maldives’ Honorary Consul to Seychelles, Lambert Bonne.
Following the ceremony, High Commissioner Imad conveyed warm greetings from Maldivian President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and the people of the Maldives, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between the two Indian Ocean nations. He highlighted opportunities to expand cooperation in key areas including trade, investment, fisheries, and tourism.
President Herminie welcomed the High Commissioner and reaffirmed Seychelles’ commitment to deepening its longstanding and cordial ties with the Maldives. He expressed confidence that cooperation between the two countries would continue to grow during High Commissioner Imad’s tenure.
As part of his official engagements, High Commissioner Imad also paid a courtesy call on Seychelles’ Vice President, Sebastien Pillay.
High Commissioner Masood Imad is currently the Maldives’ High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and will serve concurrently as Non-Resident High Commissioner to Seychelles, based in Colombo.
