President appoints Commissioner of Police

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Ahmed Mohamed as the new Commissioner of Police. He previously held the position of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
The official ceremony to present the insignia of office was held this morning at the President's Office.
Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed joined the Maldives Police Service in 1995 and has since served in various capacities across the institution. He has held key leadership roles, including in the Organisational Reform and Development Department, Hulhumalé Police Station, and the Central Investigation Command.
The Commissioner holds a Master of Shari’ah.
