First Lady Madam Fathimath Ibrahim has decided to conduct a special festival “Heevaagi Kanbalun” to showcase the talents of women.
Speaking at a press conference regarding the event, its organiser Zeenas Adnan said that this event will be held from  December 22 to 26 at Kalaafaanu School in capital Male. Applications to participate in the exhibition are due next Friday, according to Zeenas.
Exhibitors are free to join the festival in 21 categories from four sectors, including Club/Associations, Women’s Committees, Women of Special Needs, and individual women.
Moreover, the event’s other organiser Fathimath Maasha said that 75 prizes will be awarded in the festival. First prize is MVR 100,000, second prize is MVR 75,000 and MVR 50,000 will be awarded to third place. All the prizes will be awarded based on analysis by a technical committee, said Maasha.
