A total of 54 road accidents occurred on the Male' and Sinamale' Bridges last week, injuring eight people, according to police.
Police shared details of the incidents that occurred between Tuesday and Sunday, noting that 47 of the accidents took place in Male' and seven on the Sinamale' Bridge.
The highest number of accidents was recorded on Monday, with 13 incidents, followed by 12 on Tuesday. Of the total, three were classified as serious accidents, while 51 were minor. Eight people sustained injuries, and 43 vehicles were damaged.

Most of the accidents occurred during daylight hours, with 43 reported during the day and 11 at night.
The most frequent type of collision involved motorcycles and cars, with 15 such incidents reported. Thirteen of those involved motorcycles.
Police highlighted the ongoing risk of fatal accidents, noting that a young man was killed in a collision between two motorcycles in Hulhumale' Phase II on Monday.
