Maldives Police Service states Shahumulla Sajidh, 33, Manzil, B. Kendhoo, who was reported missing on Thursday night, has contacted the authority and updated them on his whereabouts.
The Police made a public announcement seeking to locate Shahumulla at approximately 16:30pm on Friday evening.
Citing his family, the Police said Shahumulla presently resides in Male’. The authority added that he was reported missing by his family on Thursday night after no contact.
At approximately 19:00pm tonight, Police, citing Shahumulla, said he is currently on an island and in good health.
The Police did not reveal the specific island where Shahumulla is located and declined to provide further details when questioned by Sun.
Usually, people who are reported missing in the Maldives are located shortly after missing persons announcements are publicized.
