Tourism Ministry statistics show that 62,027 tourists visited the Maldives in the first 13 days of September 2025 — an 18.7% increase compared to the same period last year.
With this, total arrivals for the year have reached 1.5 million, up 9.7% from the 1.4 million recorded during the same period in 2024.
China remains the top source market with 245,553 arrivals, followed by Russia, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Germany.
Of the government’s target of 2.3 million tourist arrivals this year, 1.5 million have already been achieved. The Ministry of Tourism expressed confidence that the target will be met.
