Two individuals sustained injuries when a car struck a motorcycle from behind in Hulhumale' late Saturday evening.
Police stated that the incident was reported at 22:48. A motorcycle traveling north-south on Fithuroanu Magu, Hulhumale’, was impacted by a car approaching from behind.
Two women who were passengers on the motorcycle were transported to Hulhumale' Hospital; their injuries were not severe, according to police.
Both vehicles incurred varying degrees of damage in the collision, and the accident is currently under investigation, police reported.
Road accidents are a frequent occurrence in the Maldives. Police statistics indicate that accidents represent the second most reported category of incidents to the agency, after theft. So far this year, 2,118 accidents have been reported, as per police data.
