BML announces Community Fund 2022 first phase winners

Bank of Maldives (BML) on Monday, 14th March 2022, has announced the five winning proposals for the first quarter of the bank's Community Fund initiative.
The Community Fund initiative, dubbed #AharengeBank, is a CSR effort that aims to empower local individuals and NGOs to contribute to their respective communities through sustainable projects.
As per the national bank of the island nation, the winning projects include;
- installation of solar streetlights in Shaviyani atoll Maaungoodhoo, submitted by the Society for Maaungoodhoo Youth Link (SMYL)
- development of a barbeque area in Noonu atoll Landhoo, submitted by Mr. Ahmed Rasheed.
- development of a picnic area in Thaa atoll Kinbidhoo, submitted by Ms. Aishath Sama.
- upgrading the library of Shaviyani atoll Bilehffahi School, submitted by Mr. Ibrahim Shareef.
- development of a barbeque area in Kaafu atoll Kaashidhoo, submitted by Mr. Mohamed Vishah.
The Community Fund initiative runs in a total of four phases, one in each quarter of every year with funding awarded to a total of 20 projects annually.
So far, the bank has financially supported a total of 65 similar projects in various parts of the Maldives.
