Reethi Faru Resort reopens post Covid-19 closure

The Reethi Faru Resort announces its reopening following closure due to Covid-19 pandemic hitting the Maldives tourism industry.
Earlier, several tourist properties made consecutive announcements of their decision to ‘put on breaks’ on operations after the global viral pandemic hit the island nation’s shores.
However, tourism industry received its chance to kick-up operations after Maldives government made declaration of opening up the country’s borders on 15 July 2020.
Moreover, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) reports visitor count increasing by 69% in August 2020.
Furthermore, the airport management company reports over 12,000 guest arrivals post 16 August until Friday, 18 September 2020.
Operating at Raa atoll, the Reethi Faru Resort is welcoming back travelers after meeting set guidelines and standards by relevant health authorities.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Tourism report over 70 resorts reopening since international travel opened.
The island nation, heavily dependent on tourism sector saw heavy economic regress in light of the pandemic.
Moreover, many tourist resorts saw their transition into quarantine facilities to accommodate Covid-19 contracting patients.
However, Ministry of Tourism remains hopeful of sound recovery in the industry.
Earlier, the state body notes local tourism reopening by 15 October, with the exemption of Greater Male’ Region.
Later on, reports from the ministry claim the Male’ Region’s guesthouse properties may expect a November reopening.
