President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, during his New Year message, has stated that 2016 was a success in achieving key Administration pledges.
The President sent warm greetings of the occasion to all the Maldivians going on to state that the past year had graced us with peace and harmony and that meaningful action was taken on several fronts to fulfil the basic needs of Maldivians.
Additionally, the President highlighted that in 2016, various development projects were initiated throughout the country.
The President also highlighted that, in 2016, various actions were taken to promote youth empowerment; specifically with added employment opportunities.
In his message, the President expressed his hope that in 2017 the development projects begun in 2016 would be completed.
