The Chairperson of Maldivian Democratic Party’s (MDP)، Ali Waheed has accused that each and every police confronting the public، without any legitimate reason، is a terrorist.
Speaking at the “Maldivian’s against Brutality” rally held in Hulhumale’، Ali Waheed said that by using Police، the government is trying to obstruct the opposition protest scheduled for 1st of May claiming the protest is illegal.
He stated that Maldivians have the rights to freely conduct gatherings and indicated that the right was provided by the former President Nasheed and individuals who tried for transformation.
“I would like to say that each and every police confronting the public، without any legitimate reason، is a terrorist.” said Ali Waheed.
He has urged Police to not to intervene in the protest.
