This year 22 Japanese teachers will volunteer in Maldives

Japan Overseas Voluntary Corporation has stated that 22 volunteer teachers will be teaching in Maldives this year.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, the office of the Japan Overseas Voluntary Corporation informed that last year there were 24 teachers from Japan volunteering and two from them have left the country. They stated that 8 teachers arrived last night from japan.
Office of the Japan Overseas Voluntary Corporation further stated that two of the teachers will be teaching in the Maldives National University and the remaining 20 teachers will teach in the islands.
Japanese teachers usually teach Physical Education and Sports education. However, Japanese language are taught in the University by Japanese teachers.
Government only gives these teachers a pocket money and accommodation.
Deputy Minister at the Education Ministry, Dr. Abdulla Nazeer said that the Japanese teachers are one of the best teachers in Maldives even with regards to their etiquette and character.
He said that they come well prepared and they start to learn Dhivehi language 6 months prior to their arrival to Maldives.
