India wants a legal solution for Nasheed’s case: Ambassador

Maldivian Ambassador to India Ahmed Mohamed has stated that even India wished to see a legal solution for former President Mohamed Nasheed’s case.
Speaking in TVM’s Raajje Miadhu program, the Ambassador said that discussions were held on the issue in the meeting held between the two nations yesterday. However, he added that Nasheed’s case was not discussed in the Joint Commission meetings.
Ambassador Ahmed said that India had always respected Maldivian laws and will remain that way.
The Ambassador added that Minister Sushma Swaraj had no hidden agendas in her two day trip to Maldives. He said that all discussions held between the two nations centered on expanding the existing relations between the two nations.
