The government of China donated more essential personal protective equipment (PPEs) to Maldives which arrived Wednesday, to support the island nation's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this third batch of aid from China includes medical protective face masks, surgical masks, disposable coveralls and medical goggles.
The Maldivian administration conveyed gratitude to the government, businesses and people China for their continued support, noting that the donation will enhance the capacity of Maldives' frontline team to combat community spread.

The Asian giant has provided notable donations to support response efforts since the outbreak of COVID-19 in the archipelago.
Earlier in May, Maldives received a large amount of relief materials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, along with Chinese companies including the Alibaba Foundation/ Jack Ma Foundation, China Merchants Port Group Co.Ltd, China Machinery Engineering Corporation, Beijing Urban Construction Investment & Development Co. Ltd, Dongfang Electric International Corporation, China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd, China Communications 2nd Navigational Bureau 2nd Engineering Co. Ltd and Huawei Technologies Co.Ltd.
Suzhou City of China also gifted 20,000 face masks to Male' City Council earlier this month, as relief aid.
