Bank of Maldives (BML) has introduced the Small Grants fund as part of the series of 12 high-impact monthly community initiatives to celebrate its 40th anniversary in November.
The Small Grants is open for non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to carry out community-based projects that address environmental issues and promote sustainable development. In this regard, eight projects will be selected to win a grant of USD16,000 each to successfully implement the plan.
Managing Director of BML Tim Sawyer stated the grant will support small to medium community-led initiatives that address environmental issues, support solutions for environmental challenges while at the same time, enhancing community wellbeing and livelihoods for sustainable development.
Community-based NGOs legally registered in the Maldives can submit their applications before May 15. Individuals, government bodies, business entities, and other institutions are not eligible.
