Housing Development Corporation (HDC) officially opened the Senior Citizens' Club in Hulhumalé Phase 2 on Wednesday.
The Senior Citizens' Club, built by HDC to enhance the social well-being of senior citizens living in Hulhumalé, is located in the 8th tower of the Hiyaa flats.
The club, constructed under HDC's CSR initiative, was inaugurated by the company's Deputy Managing Director, Fayaz Mansoor.
HDC said that the purpose of the club is to provide a center that can offer the most comprehensive services to the elderly living in Hulhumalé.
HDC also explained that the club, established with the most complete and modern facilities needed for senior citizens, will have resources to enhance the physical, mental, and social well-being of the its members.
As such, the club is designed with a common area accessible to everyone, a relaxation area, an outdoor space for refreshment, as well as a specially prepared space for reading books, the corporation said.
According to HDC, the club is designed to be easily accessible for people with special needs, and it will be open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM every day except Fridays and Saturdays.
