Police sign deal to relocate HQ to Hulhumale’

An agreement has been signed between Maldives Police Service (MPS) and Housing Development Corporation (HDC) to construct the main police headquarters in Hulhumale’.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen signed the agreement on behalf of MPS, while HDC’s Managing Director Mauroof Jameel signed the agreement on behalf of the corporation.
The Shaheed Hussain Adam Building, which is currently used as the police headquarters, is located in one of the busiest areas in Male’ City. The building, which opened 26 years ago in 1999, has now become inadequate in terms of space due to the significant expansion of the police service.
Details regarding the size of the land allocated for the project in Hulhumale’ are yet to be disclosed.
