PSM Represents Maldives in ABU Media Summit Focused on Environmental Action Through Media

The 9th ABU Media Summit officially commenced on Tuesday in Colombo, bringing together an impressive assembly of over 80 delegates from 30 countries and various international organisations, including representatives from the Maldives.
The critical focus of this year's summit is to harness the power of media to encourage and foster cooperation aimed at significantly increasing public awareness to reduce environmental impacts and mitigate disasters.
Throughout the three-day event, participants will delve into strategies for nations to collaboratively guide their populations, elevate environmental consciousness, and inspire lifestyle changes that actively contribute to protecting the planet. A key objective is also to secure enhanced cooperation from international organisations to bolster these vital media efforts.
Among the distinguished attendees are three members from the Public Service Media (PSM), a full member of the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), including a Board of Directors representative.
The ABU, serving as the summit's host, plays an instrumental role in promoting media development across the region, strengthening its work for the benefit of the people, and facilitating essential cooperation to improve the lives of communities.
