The Chefs Guild of Maldives has participated in the World Chefs Congress and Expo held in the United Kingdom from 16th to 19th May.
Held once in every two years, this congress is the largest global culinary event , bringing together notable chefs from all around the world to exchange information, skills and ideas and strengthen bonds between those working in the culinary sector.
In this year’s congress, Michelin star chefs gave keynote addresses, conducted workshops and co-learning sessions, and discussed the evolution of the culinary sector along with the changing world. For instance, talks were held about the sustainability of the industry, food safety, and new gastronomy trends. Also, the final round of the cooking contest, ‘The Global Chef Challenge’ was also carried out as part of this expo.
The Chefs Guild of Maldives has informed that the association prioritises participation in this expo, with the guild routinely taking part each year. They added that this is a great opportunity to deepen relationships with foreign stakeholders and create progress in the Maldivian culinary field.
The next World Chefs Congress and Expo will be held in Paris, France in 2028. This also marks the 100th anniversary of the World’s Association of Chefs Societies.
