President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has departed on an official visit to Raa and Baa atolls today.
As part of his ongoing tour of all the atolls of the Maldives, the President is scheduled to visit Raa atoll Alifushi first.
He will be accompanied by cabinet ministers and senior government officials on his trip.
Following his visit to Alifushi, the President is scheduled to then visit Raa atoll Meedhoo. A ceremony is planned to be held on the island tonight.
During these trips, the President, in addition to meetings with the residents of islands, also holds discussions with island councils. In these meetings, the government shares information with the councils about the development projects planned for the islands and exchanges views on the council's proposals.
The three-day trip will also include visits to several islands in Baa atoll, including Eydhafushi, Thulhaadhoo, Dharavandhoo, Hithadhoo, and Kendhoo.
Earlier, the President visited Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, Gaafu Dhaalu, Gaafu Alifu, Thaa, Laamu, Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, Shaviyani, and Noonu atolls, engaging with residents and island councils.
