Cycle taxi introduced in Male’ – Hope to introduce the service to the whole country : Minister Saeed

Cycle taxi has been introduced in Male’. The service was officially launched in a ceremony held at Alimas Carnival area by Economic Minister Muhammad Saeed.
Speaking at the ceremony the minister said that this is a new service to Maldives and this service will create new jobs in the country. “Providing job opportunities for the youth is a key priority of President Yameen. Soon a program to train 1000 photographers will begin. That is also another 1000 jobs” said the Minister.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman of Transport Authority Abduh Rasheed Naahiz said that with the introduction of this service, customers will no longer have to wait for long periods for taxis.
“We have experienced bus and conventional taxis. We introduced this service based on those experiences” said Naahiz.
Naahiz said that the service was started today by one company and the second company will also soon start once they are done with the formalities.
Speaking at the ceremony, an official from the company said that a considerable number of women registered to work for the company and that is a great achievement. The official said that their service will be top notch. The company thanked the government for providing the opportunity to provide this service and also noted that the fact that the government provides opportunities like Getset loans for small companies to grow.
