Maldives Police Service (MPS) has begun investigation into a tweet posted by Kendhoo Constituency MP Ali Hussain.
The tweet was posted two days back and stated that any person can respond in self-defense if a Police officer unjustly made an advance towards the person.
JP SG Ahmed Sameer today said that MP Ali Hussain’s phone had also been seized by the Police under a Court order which had sanctioned the move for 90 days.
Ali Hussain today said that his tweet was not an instruction but a clarification of the rights applicable in the given situation.
CP Ahmed Areef had said that all legal action will be taken against any individual(s) who act or encourage deliberate hindrance to Police duties.
