CEO of MPL, Muhammad Junaid said that they filed the case against Meridam to high court to ensure that the company is able to make the deserved amount of revenue.
He said that it is his responsibility as CEO to ensure this. Previous management of MPL contracted Meridam to supply diesel to MPL at extremely high rates and it was done without an open bidding process.
Speaking to Miadhu News, Junaid said that he has nothing personal with Meridiam or any other company. He said that he wants to make MPL a profitable company and he is doing what is right for the company.
He said that even at present market rates, they are facing around 5 Rufiya as loss because of this unfair contract. He said that government authorities will question them for having such a contract.
“ We have filed the case at court. When court makes a verdict, then everyone will know what happens” said Junaid.
Junaid said that the President appointed him to the position to make as much as profit possible from the company. He said that hence he will do whatever he can in his capacity to increase the revenues of the company.
