Maldives Customs a Service has warned citizens to not accept packaged items without knowing for sure what is inside them when coming back to Maldives from abroad.
The statement released by Customs in relation to this، said that attempts are being made to import illicit narcotic substances to Maldives by storing them in factory sealed packages.
The statement says that nowadays، people coming to Maldives from abroad make attempts to import illegal substances by storing them in electronic equipments، canned food and items with factory seal.
In addition to this، the statement also noted that if packaged items are accepted without checking what is inside، the carrier might have to take responsibility for legal issues.
