The Religious Scholar’s Symposium “Youth in this changing world”organised by Ministry of Islamic Affairs was inaugurated by chief guest Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom at a ceremony held at Islamic Centrethis morning.
Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowment,Dau’wa and Guidance of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh SalihBin Abdul AzeezBin MohamedBin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh and accompanying delegates that are in Maldives to attend the Symposium were welcomed by Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Ahmed ZiyadBaghir and senior staff from the Ministry.
Islamic Ministry has stated that all religious scholars in Maldives have been invited to attend the Symposium and 70 to 60 scholars are expected to attend.
Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Ahmed ZiyadBaghir, the Saudi Islamic Minister and President Maumoon gave speeches at the ceremony about the importance of the Symposium.
President Maumoon also launched YouTube channel of Ministry of Islamic Affairs at the ceremony.
