The formal visit to Maldives to be made by Prime Minister of India، Narendra Modi is cancelled.
The issued timetable from India’s External Affairs Ministry indicates that in March 11، Modi will visit Seashells first and then a two day visit to Mauritius.
Modi will visit to Sri Lanka on 13th March and on 14th March he will head back to India.
Modi’s visit to Maldives was planned on 15th March however، the visit is now cancelled. The visit included meeting with President of Maldives، Abdullah Yaameen and other political leaders.
Although India has not disclosed the reason behind cancelling the visit، India has expressed concerns regarding the detention of Former President.
