Three layers have appealed to the High Court of Maldives to annul the dismissal of two incumbent Judges of the Supreme Court Bench proposed by Judicial Services Commission.
The case was submitted to the High Court by Lawyer Shaheen Hameed، Lawyer Mohamed Faisal and Lawyer Hassan Maaz Shareef.
The three lawyers stated in their case that the Amendment Bill to the Judicature Act contradicts with Maldivian Constitution and the morals of Democracy the rules of Judiciary.
It is not confirmed if the High Court has accepted the case for the Court’s consideration.
JSC has proposed to dismiss Chief Justice Uz. Ahmed Faiz Hussain and Supreme Court Judge Uz. Mu’thasim Adnan، following the passing of the Amendment to the Judicature Act. People’s Majlis will take a vote on the decision of JSC during Majlis Sitting on Sunday afternoon.
