President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has met with the senior officials and citizens of Felidheatholhu Thinadhoo, as part of his ongoing tour of the atoll.
The meeting, held this evening at the island’s harbour area, saw the Island Council share updates on the island’s current status and highlight its most urgent development needs. The Council also thanked the President for the ongoing infrastructure and healthcare initiatives on the island.
President Dr Muizzu assured the Council that the Government would give due consideration to their concerns and work towards practical solutions. He noted that the most pressing issue for the island was the harbour and pledged a sustainable solution.
During his visit, the President also inaugurated ATM services on the island. Acknowledging Thinadhoo’s role as a hub for local tourism, he further pledged to install a US dollar ATM before March 2026.
The President was accompanied by several Cabinet members and senior Government officials. The meeting was attended by members of the Island Council and heads of local institutions.
