The severely decomposed body of a man, believed to be that of a missing foreigner, was discovered in the area of the Hulhumale' Water Theme Park on Monday.
Police confirmed on Monday evening that a deceased man was found at the Water Theme Park site in Hulhumale' and stated they are investigating the matter.
Sources indicate the deceased has been identified as a 29-year-old Nepalese man, who was reported missing to the police on Friday after having last been seen on Thursday.
Authorities are reportedly facing difficulties in identifying the individual due to the advanced state of decomposition of the remains.
The Water Theme Park, awarded to a Malaysian company in 2017, remains uncompleted and the area is currently unused.
