PPM have said that only the Chief Advisor of the party can release statements on behalf of PPM and no other person has the right to make statements on behalf of the party.
Speaking to the press this afternoon, the SG of PPM Dr.Khaleel said that if other people are releasing statements on behalf of the party, they will be forced to take legal action against them.
As a result of this decision by PPM, President Maumoon cannot make statements on behalf of PPM now. Dr.Khaleel said that President Maumoon is still the president of the party. Maumoon can only release statements as the party’s president and on his personal capacity only.
PPM council has decided that the party president has no role in managing the party and hence party president cannot interfere with the day to day affairs of the party. Dr.Khaleel also announced the elections committee of PPM. The members of the committee are, Raabih Muhammad (chairman), Shazaail Shiyaam (Deputy Chairperson), Abdullah Rasheed, Mujuthabaa Jaleel and Ahmed Aiman.
