Police has begun investigating into a case of a supervisor of Ha. Atoll School in Ha. Hoarafushi، reportedly beating a seven-year-old student inside the school’s storage unit.
Following the incident، the student’s mother told Vaguthu that the problem started with a clash between the student and another student in the classroom over a sticker card، which the teacher present at the moment reported to the supervisor.
The supervisor then came and forcefully took the 7-year-old boy، with help from other teachers، and pushed him inside the storage unit where he was beaten، the mother said.
The boy’s mother said there were signs that he was beaten. Vaguthu has learned the doctors’ reports also concluded that the boy has received injuries، including a visible swelling on the leg.
Police said that on 14 April the authority was reported an assault by a responsible personnel at the Haa Alif Atoll School in Hoarafushi on a 7-year-old male student. Police said they are looking into the matter.
